Terms & Conditions

These Terms govern your use of the Psy-Opt-In web app and "The Line" phone and text training service (together, the "Service"), operated by Psy-Opt-In ("we," "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What the Service is

Psy-Opt-In is an educational anti-manipulation and scam-defense training tool. It runs influence and scam tactics on you, with your consent, in fictional simulations, then explains how they worked so you learn to recognize and resist them. It is training and education only.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use the Service.

Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to harass others, to break the law, to attempt to defraud anyone, or to interfere with or abuse the Service (including automated or excessive use). The simulations teach you to recognize manipulation, not to perform it on real people.

Ownership & intellectual property

The Service and everything in it — the software and source code, the written scenarios, characters, dialogue, scoring logic, curriculum, designs, graphics, audio, video, and the names, logos, and taglines "Psy-Opt-In," "The Line," and "See the strings. Learn to cut them." — are owned by Psy-Opt-In and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own training. You may not:

• copy, reproduce, republish, mirror, or redistribute the Service or any substantial part of it;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or extract the source code, prompts, scenarios, or content to build, train, or operate a competing or derivative product or service;
• remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notice; or
• use our names, logos, or taglines without our prior written permission.

Client-side code is delivered to your browser only so the Service can run for you; that delivery is not a license to copy it. We actively pursue infringement, including DMCA takedowns and other legal remedies.

Calls, texts, and recording

• Calls to The Line are recorded and scored so we can text you a breakdown. You are notified at the start of each call.
• By texting us or providing your number, you consent to receive Service-related text messages. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
• Free usage is limited (currently 3 free calls per phone number per month, with daily caps). Calls are time-limited and may end automatically after a period of silence. These limits exist to keep the free tier free and are not a defect.

Payments, passes & refunds

• Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout.
• Plus is a subscription; you can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of your paid period.
• The Line Pass is a one-time purchase of call-rounds that do not expire.
• All sales are final and non-refundable. Because delivering a call costs us real money the moment it happens, and our providers do not refund us, we cannot offer refunds at this time. If something is genuinely broken, contact us (text HUMAN to The Line or email us) and we will work to make it right.

Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and may change, pause, or end at any time. We don't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim (or $50 if you paid nothing).

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; we'll change the date above when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
