Privacy Policy

Psy-Opt-In ("Psy-Opt-In," "we," "us") operates the Psy-Opt-In web app and "The Line" phone and text training service (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We built an anti-manipulation product, so we aim to be plain and honest here — no dark patterns.

What we collect

Your phone number — when you call or text The Line, or enter it at checkout, so we can run your training session and send your results and service messages.
Call and message content — calls are recorded and transcribed, and text conversations are processed, so we can score your session and text you a breakdown.
Training progress — your in-app scores, streaks, and settings are stored locally in your own browser (localStorage). We do not upload your web-app progress to our servers.
Payment information — if you buy, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and handles your card details. We never see or store your full card number.
Basic technical data — standard server and hosting logs (e.g. IP address, timestamps) kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
Advertising measurement — the psyoptin.com website runs a Meta (Facebook) pixel, which sets a cookie and reports page views and completed purchases so we can measure our ads. See "Who we share it with" below.

How we use it

To run the training simulation and generate your personalized debrief.
To send you service and account messages (for example, session results, unlock confirmations, and free-usage notices).
To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
To process payments you choose to make.

SMS / text messaging consent. When you text The Line or provide your mobile number, you consent to receive text messages related to the Service (such as training results and account or service messages). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, text-messaging opt-in, or consent information with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in and consent data is never shared with third parties for marketing.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum necessary with service providers who help us run the Service, under their own terms:

Twilio — telephone and SMS delivery (your calls and texts pass through Twilio).
Vapi — the AI voice platform that powers the phone characters.
OpenAI — processes text conversations to generate character replies and scoring.
Stripe — payment processing, if you buy something.
Netlify — website and function hosting.
Meta (Facebook) — an advertising pixel runs on the psyoptin.com website. It reports page views and, if you buy, that a purchase happened, so we can tell whether our ads work. It does not receive your name, phone number or card details. It does not run on the TALK OUT game (see below), and you can block it with any tracker blocker without affecting the Service.

We do not sell your personal information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes; text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except Twilio, our SMS delivery provider, solely to send the messages you asked for. Recording & age

Calls to The Line are recorded and scored so we can text you a debrief; you are told this at the start of the call. The Service is intended for adults 18 and older.

Your choices

Text STOP to opt out of text messages, or HELP for help.
Clear your browser storage to erase your local web-app progress.
Email us to ask what we hold about you, or to request deletion, at the address below.

TALK OUT (the game, and its Android app)

TALK OUT — at talkout.psyoptin.com, and the Android app of the same name — collects less than the rest of the Service, so it is described separately here.

It has no account and no sign-in. Your progress, settings and results are stored on your own device and are never uploaded. It sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts; an advertising pixel that previously ran on the game was removed in August 2026.

It records anonymous play statistics: which tactic a line used, whether it was caught, roughly how long the answer took, and where a run ended. These are attached to a random identifier the browser generates for itself — not an advertising ID, not a device ID, and not anything that identifies you. We use them for one purpose: to see which manipulation tactics get past people, and make the game and courses better at teaching those. The statistics are processed by Cloudflare on our behalf, kept for 90 days, and not shared with advertisers or any other third party.

Retention

We keep training and message data only as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal or security needs, then delete or de-identify it. Anonymous TALK OUT play statistics are kept for 90 days.

Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll change the date above when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
