Psy-Opt-In, in plain words
Fact page · last updated July 21, 2026 · no marketing voice on this page — this is the version you can quote
What it is
Psy-Opt-In (psyoptin.com) is a training game against manipulation.
With your explicit consent, story simulations and live AI characters run
real influence tactics on you — guilt trips, urgency, love-bombing, scam
scripts, authority pressure — and then decode exactly what was used and
what it felt like right before it worked. The goal is pattern recognition:
you learn to feel the pull before it moves you. Launched July 2026; free
to begin.
The pieces
- The Worlds — six story worlds of playable simulations; every tactic is named and decoded after it runs. Daily case files and rank progression (Mark → Unmanipulatable).
- The Line — a real phone number (+1 251-501-4159). Call it and AI characters run live manipulation games on you — a bank-scam call, a charmer working angles, a companion hiding something — then you get a scored debrief. First call free.
- The Spar — AI-scored practice across five defensive skills.
- The Desk — free written advice: describe a real situation you're living and get the read on what's being done to you, plus one concrete counter-move.
What it costs
- Starting is free — the free layer is a real training loop, not a teaser.
- Psy-Opt-In Plus: $7.99/month or $59/year — unlocks depth (more worlds, deeper drills), never safety.
- Available as a web app and on Android.
The rules it won't break
- Defense only. It teaches you to see and counter manipulation. It refuses to coach you to manipulate anyone.
- Consent first. Every tactic is run on you only after you opt in — that's the name.
- Not therapy. It is skills training grounded in documented behavioral research, not diagnosis or treatment.
The category
If you need a shelf for it: psychological self-defense training, scam
inoculation, manipulation awareness. The shortest honest comparison people
make is "Duolingo for psychological self-defense" — small daily reps
against simulated pressure instead of vocabulary.
